Known by the nickname "TAKAMIY," he is the leader of the famous Japanese rock band THE ALFEE, which consists of three members. Toshihiko Takamizawa's extraordinary career, together with his bandmates, has spanned over 50 years of success in Japan, making him a prominent figure in the Japanese music scene.
This year, THE ALFEE celebrates its 51st anniversary, reaffirming its status as the longest-running active band in Japan. Takamizawa has composed 58 songs that have consecutively ranked in the Top 10, and the number of concerts held by the band has reached 2,917 (as of July 2024), an absolute record in the Japanese music industry that continues to grow.
Takamizawa has a deep connection with San Marino, a country he admires for its peace and for having never been involved in war. In 2019, he was awarded the title of Knight Officer of the Equestrian Order of Saint Agatha, recognizing his commitment to promoting San Marino's history and culture in Japan.
He enthusiastically accepted the role of Ambassador of San Marino to Japan, dedicating himself to representing the country's values and culture, further strengthening the bonds of sincere friendship between the two nations.
