This afternoon the official presentation to the Tourism, Post Office, Cooperation and Expo Minister Federico Pedini Amati of all the volunteers who will work for San Marino Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai.

The 25 guys, all between 20 and 27 years old, were welcomed by the General Commissioner for Expo Mauro Maiani and his staff in the hall of the State Secretariat for Tourism and Expo.

The appointment has been a very significant moment for the young volunteers that, one step away from leaving, exchanged their emotions and made the acquaintance of the Secretary Pedini Amati, who has firmly supported the Universal Exposition project from the beginning of his mandate.

Following a brief presentation by each volunteer, the Minister took the floor, bringing to attention the importance that this event assumes in the current historical period we are experiencing: "Expo Dubai will be the first real challenge for each state to present itself to the world following the health emergency that affected the planet. Expo is therefore a great occasion for San Marino to create relations again with other countries, attracting tourists and business opportunities in the area”. The Secretary therefore urged the guys to live this experience with the utmost enthusiasm and responsibility: "You volunteers, will be the first real point of contact with the visitor, you will be the Ambassadors of the Republic, therefore do not underestimate the role for which you have been called, but on the contrary, live your experience in the Pavilion with pride and great awareness ”.

Moreover, in the Minister's speech, there was a proper mention of the Emirati culture, different from ours in terms of customs and traditions. Thus, the invitation to the volunteers was to respect the State’s legislation and rules in which they will be guests for a couple of months.

The Minister finally ended his speech by underlining the importance of forming a strong group, without creating jealousies but a constructive team spirit to support each other and make the most of this unique and extraordinary experience to return home enriched.

After the Minister's speech, Commissioner Maiani recalled the value of being a volunteer at Expo: "You will be the milestone of the Pavilion: from the welcome greet to the sponsors and visitors’ assistance, your role will be fundamental in guaranteeing the daily functioning of the Pavilion ”.

The Commissioner also specified that from today for a week will take place the training of the first period volunteers to get them into the heart of the project: important notions about the Pavilion, the Treasure of Domagnano, history, tourism and country system will be the learning subjects to enhance their knowledge and to fulfill their roles within the exhibition space. The second period volunteers training will take place later, in November.

At the end of the meeting, Commissioner Maiani greeted the young guys showing great satisfaction for their presence and determination. Elements that allowed him to confirm the big trust he places in the Expo project and in young people.
