news The San Marino pavilion at Expo Dubai hosts the exhibition "Colors for Peace" 05 March 2022

In a current historical moment like the one we are going through, it is more important than ever to fight for peace. In the context of Expo, a showcase of exchange and visibility involving 192 countries, the San Marino Pavilion wanted to make its contribution in the transmission of a heartfelt message of peace and solidarity, hosting the largest collection of extraordinary drawings by children from 136 countries around the world. The exhibition 'Colors for Peace' is curated by the homonymous non-profit association founded in March 2015 in Sant'Anna di Stazzema, in the province of Lucca, which, in collaboration with Artissima Art Agency, promotes children's art at an international level to reduce cultural, social and economic distances between rich and poor countries.

The “Colors For Peace” team works to ensure that the adults of tomorrow become conscious bearers of a universal culture of peace, rejecting all logic of war and division of peoples. In pursuing its objectives, “Colors for Peace” promotes the values of Equality, Respect for others, Solidarity and Justice.

Drawing is a simple but very effective art form that concretizes a series of educational activities carried out in favour of peace. The exhibition is in fact the demonstration of a small but significant means of 'soft diplomacy' that facilitates relations between peoples by creating bridges and breaking down barriers. An example of communion and a fruitful attempt of interchange and integration among more than 150 children belonging to Primary and Preschools of 136 Nations representing 5 Continents.

"Colors of Peace" was inaugurated last Thursday March 3 in the VIP lounge of the San Marino Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai by Letizia Cardelli, Director of the Pavilion, Aurela Cuku, Curator of the exhibition and Founder of Artissima Art Agency and Vice President of “Colors For Peace” and will remain open until mid-March. Mariana Turchio, “Colors For Peace” Ambassador in Argentina, together with the staff of the San Marino Pavilion and local art lovers, were also present at the opening moment.

Letizia Cardelli, Director of the San Marino Pavilion said, "We are honoured to showcase 150 drawings created by children from around the world, conveying a powerful message of peace on our exhibition platform, both physical and virtual. The World Expo has an international audience, and therefore offers visibility to messages of peace to a multicultural audience."

Aurela Cuku, exhibition curator and founder of Artissima Art Agency said, "We feel privileged to collaborate with the San Marino Pavilion, which is run by a dynamic team that understands the need for children's voices to be heard through art and will therefore appeal to entire masses to ensure a peaceful future for the younger generation."
