news Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding between Italy and San Marino at Expo 2020 Dubai 01 October 2021

Rome - San Marino - Dubai; October 1, 2020

The cooperation between the General Commissariats of Italy and San Marino, as their participation at Expo 2020 Dubai, is the key of a Memorandum of Understanding signed today in Dubai, few hours before the official inauguration of their respective pavilions at the first Universal Exhibition to be held in Arab World.

The Cooperation between the two countries has been established in the light of a multitude of shared values of historical character, as well as territorial continuity and important bilateral cooperation in economic and tourism fields, which was also underlined in the last important ministerial meetings and in mutual collaboration in
International Organizations. Specifically, the Memorandum Of Understanding signed today by
Commissioners Mauro Maiani (San Marino) and Paolo Glisenti (Italy), in the presence of the Italian Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova, and the Ministry of Tourism and Expo of the
Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati, provides a sincere collaboration within Expo 2020 Dubai. This relationship is articulated in a mutual and direct flow of communications and information that encourages the visit of delegations, suppliers and stakeholders.

The final goal of this Memorandum will be to ensure support and visibility to the initiatives planned by both individual pavilions at the most relevant moments of this extraordinary event.

San Marino Commissioner Mauro Maiani stated: "The signing of this protocol, today a few hours after the opening of Expo 2020 Dubai formally establishes a collaboration that has already been initiated between the two Commissioners in the preparation phase of Expo. I certainly believe that a close synergy will give mutual visibility. I thank the Italian Commissioner for his availability and friendship towards San Marino".

The Italian Commissioner has then declared: ”The agreement is a useful collaboration for both pavilions and for all the synergies that can be achieved on the respective programs. It is a sign of friendship towards the Republic of San Marino, which has great experiences in participation at Universal Expositions and from which we have much to learn”.
