Two days of training to prepare the volunteer team and reserves of the San Marino Pavilion to face the extraordinary experience of Expo 2025 Osaka in the best possible way.

San Marino, February 27, 2025 – As the start of Expo 2025 Osaka approaches, excitement is growing, and the Republic of San Marino is determined to do its part. The team of volunteers, selected for their skills and motivation, will serve as a bridge between San Marino and the rest of the world, bringing the passion, culture, and commitment typical of our country. The young men and women, who will be part of a large international network with thousands of participants from around the world, will contribute to making San Marino’s participation a unique experience of hospitality.

The training session held yesterday and today at the University of the Republic of San Marino was a crucial step in ensuring that every young person can face their responsibilities during the Expo with competence and confidence.

The training program included a series of theoretical meetings to confirm the skills of the volunteers in various areas, including reception and protocol, led by the Director of Diplomatic Ceremonial, Dr. Silvia Berti; Sammarinese institutions, with the participation of Lawyer Giovanna Crescentini, Head of the Institutional Secretariat; the history of San Marino, with the intervention of Professor of History and Philosophy Verter Casali; the monuments of the Titano, led by Professor Mario Marchioni, Head of the State Museums of the Cultural Institutes; tourism, with the participation of the Tourism Office represented by Dr. Franca Rastelli, Head of Marketing and Communication; internationalization, with the Agency for Economic Development of the Chamber of Commerce, represented by Dr. Laura Fabbri, Director of the Trade Division.

Studio Jam with Giulia Galassi focused on the Pavilion’s project and content, as well as coordinated communication. Poste San Marino participated, highlighting the history and philatelic and numismatic tradition of the Republic of San Marino and presenting to the volunteers the stamps and coins issued for San Marino’s participation at Expo.

A focus was dedicated to the manuscript Vita Sancti Marini – a copy of which will be displayed in the Pavilion, donated by the IMAGO Publishing House – curated by Professor Meris Monti, President of the UNESCO Commission, and Professor Maria Giovanna Fadiga, a member of the same Commission and Cultural Director of IMAGO.

The training also included the Società Unione Mutuo Soccorso, which presented the initiative supporting the Volunteer Program; BKN301, which clarified the functioning of the debit card that will be given to each volunteer; and VeChain, which previewed the functioning and goals of the application that visitors will use to interact with the Pavilion.

The General Commissioner Filippo Francini stated: “Expo 2025 Osaka is an extraordinary opportunity to showcase our small country to the world. The preparation of our volunteers is a key investment to ensure a representation that reflects our tradition and values. We are confident that this experience will be a unique growth opportunity for both the participants and our nation.”
