Osaka, January 13, 2025 – On the day marking exactly three months until the inauguration of Expo 2025 Osaka, the San Marino delegation, led by the Secretary of State for Tourism with responsibility for Expo, Federico Pedini Amati, visited the construction site of the Pavilion on Yumeshima Island, located in the bay in front of Osaka. The delegation departed on Saturday to attend the final International Participants Meeting organized for the official participating countries.
San Marino’s space at the Universal Exposition, themed “Designing Future Society for Our Lives”, is Pavilion CS2, located in the Saving Lives area near the west entrance to the site and the Italian Pavilion. Alongside San Marino, the pavilion will also host Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Slovakia, Ukraine, Gabon, Uruguay, Panama, and Israel.
Federico Pedini Amati stated: “I was able to appreciate the progress of work on the entire Expo site and what will become our national pavilion, led by Commissioner General Filippo Francini and the entire team of the Commissioner’s Office, whom I thank. I must admit my excitement in seeing firsthand an area that will be our home for six months during this incredible event, which I had only seen in renderings until now. I thank everyone involved in the project, confident it will be appreciated by the millions of visitors we will welcome!”
Filippo Francini added: “Exactly three months remain until Expo opens its doors. Preparations for the mission are progressing thanks to the work of the Commissioner’s team. We are finalizing the last details with the contractor Beyond Limits, represented by architect Iacopo Torrini, and with the organizers for the pavilion’s completion, which will be handed over to us in the last week of March. During the IPM, set to begin on Wednesday, January 15, the organizers will provide all participating countries with updates on the latest administrative provisions and logistical details for an event expected to attract over 28 million visitors during its six-month run.”
