Minister responsible for the Expo

On July 22, 2024, the Great and General Council (Parliament) of the Republic of San Marino appointed the Ministers for the 31st Legislature and assigned the responsibility for the Expo to the Minister of Tourism, Post, Cooperation, Information, and Tourist Investment Attraction, Federico Pedini Amati. First elected as a Member of Parliament in 2006, he was a member of the Commission for Finance (2011) and President of the Commission for the Infiltration of Organised Crime (2016-2018), as well as a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean. He also served as Captain Regent (Head of State) from April 1 to October 1, 2008.

The General Commissioner’s Office of the San Marino Government for Expo 2025 Osaka was established by Law no. 132 of 15 September 2023, to organize and coordinate the participation of the Republic of San Marino in Expo 2025 Osaka, in accordance with the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) conventions and regulations.

The General Commissioner’s Office is at the Ministry of Tourism and it is responsible for managing all initiatives related to San Marino’s participation in the Expo, including activities, events, and economic, scientific, cultural, and artistic forums, both in San Marino and abroad. On 16 October 2023, the Government appointed Mr. Filippo Francini as General Commissioner for Expo 2025 Osaka. In addition to the Commissioner, the Commission’s staff includes External Relations Manager Alice Andreini, Communication Manager Laura Franciosi, and Secretariat Manager Mattia Ronchi.

Filippo Francini

General Commissioner

Filippo Francini, who was also the General Commissioner for Expo 2020 Dubai, holds a degree in Economics and Trade with a specialisation in finance from the University of Bologna. He has extensive experience in banking and finance, having worked for both private banks and the Central Bank of the Republic of San Marino. He currently serves as Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of San Marino and Ambassador to Brazil (where he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of Rio Branco by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil), as Trustee in the Purpose Trust - Veicolo Pubblico di Segregazione Fondi Pensione and finally as Vice President of the San Marino Tennis Federation, of which he was also an athlete in international competitions in the past.

Finally, he served as Administrative Director of the Social Security Institute, the most important public entity in the Republic of San Marino.

Alice Andreini

Alice Andreini

External Relations Manager

Alice Andreini has over 10 years of experience in banking and finance. She holds degrees in Economics and Finance and Business Administration from the University of Bologna, as well as a postgraduate degree in Internationalization Processes in East Asia. She has experience in managing complex projects, including international ones, thanks to her work in the Ministry of Industry, Handicraft, and Trade during the XXX legislature of the San Marino Government. Alice served as President of the San Marino Music Institute.

Laura Franciosi

Laura Franciosi

Communication Manager

Born in Milan, Laura Franciosi moved to San Marino and obtained a degree in Public Relations from the Faculty of Communication and Entertainment Sciences at IULM University in Milan, followed by a Master's in Social, Political, and Institutional Communication. She founded and ran her own communication agency for ten years and became the Communication Manager at the Ministry of Finance in 2023. Laura has participated in two previous World Expos representing her country, in 1998 in Lisbon and in 2015 in Milan as Communications Manager.

Laura is a member of the Rimini and Riviera Inner Wheel service club where this year she holds the position of Secretary; she loves punk, indie and alternative rock music, plays the drums and has a great passion for pin-up art.

Mattia Ronchi

Mattia Ronchi

Secretariat Manager of the Commissioner’s Office

Mattia holds a degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Bologna and a Master's degree in International Management from Università Cattolica in Milan. He returned to San Marino after working in England and served as HR Manager at a leading company in the provision of services to public administrations in Italy. During the XXIX legislature, he was appointed as Personal Assistant at the Ministry of Education and Culture and in July 2019 he was elected as a member of the Great and General Council, serving the country as a Member of Parliament until the early end of the legislature. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Giochi del Titano S.p.A., a major state-owned company. He is currently employed by the Public Utilities Autonomous State Corporation, a 100% state-owned multi-utility company that provides essential services. He has been seconded to the General Commissioner's Office for Expo 2025 Osaka since 10 June 2024. Mattia is also President of the ISSHO-NI San Marino Japan Cultural Association.
